Darragh MacAnthony has been speaking about Liverpool and their chances of signing Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.
Liverpool set to miss out on Jude Bellingham
Well, the Irishman – who is the Chairman of Peterborough – believes Jürgen Klopp has no chance of bringing the England international to Anfield.
Speaking on the Hard Truth podcast, MacAnthony said “Do people seriously think Liverpool are signing Jude Bellingham? Get a grip! With Man City, Chelsea and the wealth out there, Real Madrid, you think Bellingham is going to Liverpool?”
Interestingly, the 46-year-old mentions wealth, which is something James Pearce of The Athletic has also suggested may be an issue for Liverpool when it comes to financing a deal for the 19-year-old.
Borussia Dortmund are said to want £130m for their No.22 as Europe’s elite monitor Bellingham.

Of course, Liverpool are capable of significant transfers, such as the £52m signing of Naby Keita, the £75m arrival of Virgil van Dijk and the £64m spent on Darwin Nunez.
However, there remains plenty of doubt over whether Fenway Sports Group (FSG) will finance a deal beyond £100m.
Worry for Liverpool in Jude Bellingham race
You may question how the Chairman of a League One club knows anything about Liverpool and their finances, although when you hear MacAnthony’s comments, coupled with what Pearce said, it is definitely a worry.
FSG appear to be very tight in comparison to those who own other elite clubs across Europe, and Klopp even admitted over the summer that he would like Liverpool to be more adventurous in the market.
With each passing week in which Bellingham dazzles, and Liverpool struggle in the Premier League, it does feel as if their chances of signing the teenager are dwindling.
Having said that, anything is possible, so be sure to keep an eye on this saga going into 2023.
