Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has suggested that Nottingham Forest are not in for Ivan Toney, but West Bromwich Albion could be.
Toney has been linked with a £9 million move away from Posh this summer (Daily Record), with both Forest and West Brom touted as potential destinations.
Toney is considered to be one of the best strikers outside the Premier League, after he scored 26 goals last term.
And when asked if Forest or West Brom had been in contact over signing the striker, MacAnthony responded on Twitter.
Toney could make a smart addition for either Forest or West Brom, as they look to build their squads for next season.
Forest narrowly missed out on a play off spot last term, but Toney could be the man to fire them over the line next time around.
West Brom, meanwhile, could do with adding a goalscorer for their Premier League campaign.
While Toney is completely unproven at the top level, he would arrive at the Hawthorns full of confidence, after such a good scoring season – and his physicality could make Slaven Bilic’s side more of a threat.
