Darragh MacAnthony has said on Twitter that he hopes that Ivan Toney joins Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

Toney is one of the best strikers in the Championship and has been banging in the goals for fun this season.

According to WhoScored, the 24-year-old striker has scored 25 goals and provided nine assists in 33 Championship games for Brentford so far this season.

The former Newcastle United striker joined Brentford from Peterborough United in the summer of 2020.

Peterborough owner MacAnthony is a Liverpool fan, and he hopes that Toney ends up at the defending Premier League champions.

In demand

Toney’s performances for Brentford this season have not gone unnoticed by clubs in the Premier League.

According to Football.London, London duo Arsenal and West Ham United are interested in signing the 24-year-old in the summer of 2021.

The report has claimed that the Bees could sell if they are made an offer of £30 million.

If Brentford are unable to win promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season, then it is likely that they will not be able to keep hold of Toney if Premier League clubs come calling.
