Andy Holt revisits Rangers double swoop for Windass and Crooks.

It is two years since Rangers sealed deals to bring Accrington Stanley duo Josh Windass and Matt Crooks to Ibrox.

And for the English side’s chairman Andy Holt, it is very much a sore subject.

Rangers signed the pair with their contracts expiring, but Scottish sides are not bound by the same compensation agreements as English clubs, allowing the pair to move for a pittance.

Holt was quizzed about the moves on Twitter, and said he did not blame the pair for leaving, and admitted he should not have let their contracts run down.

But he also offered some clarification on just why he was so annoyed by the Gers.

Windass and Crooks had different experiences at Rangers, and only one of them are still with the Light Blues.

Crooks was loaned to Scunthorpe just months into his Ibrox spell, before being sold to Northampton Town in the summer.

Josh Windass has been more involved and has been a regular for Rangers this season.

Recent additions though have put his place in the side under threat and the Daily Record reported yesterday that Leeds United are eyeing a January move for the attacker.
