Harry Wilson admitted in April that he may well leave Liverpool during the summer transfer window.

The Liverpool academy product turned 24 in March and hasn’t even yet made a Premier League appearance for the club.

He was loaned to Cardiff City on a season-long basis for the 2020-21 campaign, which was the fifth time that the Reds had let him leave on a temporary basis.

And the Welsh club’s chairman Mehmet Dalman has told BBC Sport that Liverpool are probably going to sell the attacking star this summer.

He said: “Harry Wilson is on the last year of his contract and I would imagine Liverpool will be looking to sell him. If there was any change in the circumstances there, I’m pretty confident Liverpool would let us know.”

Some Liverpool fans might be sad to see him go, if he does indeed leave.

That’s because fans feel a special attachment to those who climb through the ranks and get to the brink of the first team.

But it doesn’t seem like Wilson will be good enough to make that extra step into Jurgen Klopp’s senior squad but, make no mistake about it, the German manager knows what he can do.

In 2019, Klopp labelled the Wales international ‘world class’ as far as shooting goes [Goal.com] and his goal tally during his loan spells indicates that he definitely knows how to score.

He netted seven Premier League goals during a stint with relegated Bournemouth last season and that’s a return healthy enough to suggest he can make it in the top flight, just probably not at Liverpool.
