Former Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas has listed his top five players to have played a big part for the Gunners after their move to the Emirates Stadium.

The Spaniard was one of Arsenal’s best players during his time at the club. He played 304 games, scored 57 goals and provided 92 assists before leaving the Emirates for Barcelona in the summer of 2011.

Fabregas would arguably be on almost every Arsenal supporter’s top five list in the Emirates era, but the midfielder has kept himself out of his own rankings. The Spaniard named his top five on Twitter but he had a little trouble midway through his list.

RvP tops Fabregas’s top five list

Fabregas has named Robin van Persie as Arsenal’s best player of the Emirates era. The Dutchman is one of the Gunners’ best ever strikers having scored over 100 goals for them in all competitions.

Van Persie’s decision to leave Arsenal for Manchester United in 2012 irked a number of Gunners supporters. However, he is still up there with the best to ever play for them, especially in the Emirates era.

Alexis Sanchez ranked second on Fabregas’s list. The Chilean took the Premier League by storm when he joined the Gunners from Barcelona in 2014. He played 166 times for Arsenal and scored 80 goals while providing 45 assists in his three-and-a-half years at the Emirates.

The former Barcelona man, like van Persie, left the Gunners for Manchester United, but sadly for him, things didn’t quite work out. He is now looking to reignite his career in Italy with Inter Milan for whom he has scored just four times in 36 appearances.

Fabregas was in a dilemma for the third spot. The former Arsenal star decided to go with two players who played in his position – Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla – but he couldn’t separate the two.

Aaron Ramsey ranked fifth in Fabregas’s list. The Welshman scored in two FA Cup finals to help Arsenal win the trophy and, despite his departure in 2019, he is still adored by Gunners supporters.
