Michael Owen has shared his appreciation of Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale on Premier League Productions following his performance against Liverpool at the weekend.
The former Liverpool striker was impressed by Ramsdale’s overall performance for Arsenal at Anfield.
However, Owen has suggested that the 2021 summer signing from Sheffield United should have done better for Sadio Mane’s goal.
Mane headed home from close range to put Liverpool in the lead in the first half.
Jurgen Klopp’s side went on to win the Premier League game 4-0.
Michael Owen’s verdict
Owen said on Premier League Productions: “Liverpool knocked and knocked in that first half, but the goalkeeper was in inspired form.”
The pundit added: “He made a couple of great saves, and you are thinking, ‘It’s his lucky day again’.
“He was brilliant against Leicester away in the last away performance, and today again he made some super saves, until that last chance, I would say, that Sadio Mane scored.
“He is certainly in great form at the moment. He kept Arsenal in.”

Aaron Ramsdale is undisputed Arsenal no. 1
Ramsdale joined Arsenal in the summer of 2021 as a back-up to Bernd Leno.
However, the 23-year-old has now established himself as the undisputed number one goalkeeper for the Gunners.
Yes, maybe Ramsdale could have done better for Mane’s goal, but we cannot blame him for the defeat.
The former Bournemouth goalkeeper mades saves after saves to stop Arsenal from conceding six or seven goals.
Ramsdale commands his area well, is very good with his feet, and is a strong presence between the posts.
