Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has praised Kieran Tierney for his reaction to being left out of the starting lineup on many occasions this season, as quoted on BBC Sport.
Tierney scored the only goal for Arsenal in their 1-0 win against FC Zurich at the Emirates Stadium in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening.
The Scotland international left-back found the back of the net with a superb strike in the 17th minute.
The £25 million (BBC Sport) star played well as well in the match, and showed once again that he remains a key figure in the Gunners’ team despite not playing regularly this season.
Tierney has made three starts and eight substitute appearances in the Premier League and has played in six UEFA Europa League matches for Arsenal so far this season.

Mikel Arteta on Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney
Arteta said about Tierney: “I think he was really good. Kieran [Tierney] is showing a lot of maturity.
“He has respected certain decisions that we have taken. He has played a lot of minutes and done really well today.”
Important player for the Gunners
In our view, Kieran Tierney is an important player for Arsenal and will play his role for the Gunners in the coming weeks and months.
Yes, the former Celtic star is not playing much in the Premier League at the moment, but he will get games on a regular basis after the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar due to the tight schedule.
We know that the Scotsman is a very committed player who works hard and gives his all every time he is on the pitch.
Tierney is an asset for Arsenal, and Arteta knows that.
