Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn has admitted that he is a fan of Tottenham striker Harry Kane amid rumours that the Bavarian giants are interested in signing the England captain.

In an interview with Sky Germany, the former goalkeeper was asked if Bayern were interested in signing Kane, with Kahn replying that he is a fan of the striker. The Bundesliga official said: “Of course, he’s a very good player, but there are many other very good players.”

Whilst Kahn’s answer might have been vague, the line will add more fuel to the fire in Bayern’s quest to sign Kane, with the Munich-based giants keen to add a world-class centre-forward to their ranks in 2023 following the departure of Robert Lewandowski to FC Barcelona.

As per the report, Bayern signing Kane will be no easy task, with Daniel Levy expected to demand well over €100m (86m) for the 29-year-old attacker, even with the forward approaching the final 18 months of his contract and heading into the final peak years of his career.

Nevertheless, Bayern remain confident in bringing Kane to Munich, with the signing a deal that could take Julian Nagelsmann’s side back to the summit of German football after a difficult campaign this season, with a world-class leading man clearly lacking from the squad.

Indeed, Tottenham will take some convincing to part with Kane, especially if Antonio Conte signs a new deal to remain in north London with Spurs. However, if the Premier League side go trophyless for another season, the attacker could opt for a move to Bavaria with Bayern.

Bayern Munich should go all out to sign Kane in 2023

Kane’s Tottenham career, on an individual level, has been nothing short of sensational. However, the attacker is soon reaching a stage where he will want to be winning silverware, something that is unlikely to happen at Spurs regardless of who manages them.

After all, Kane has come close and failed at every hurdle to win a trophy with Tottenham. And with Bayern the winning juggernauts of Germany that they are, the England captain can cap off his career on a high with a move to a club where accolades will finally decorate his cabinet.
