£27m stirker Cenk Tosun has scored just twice in 21 Premier League games for Marco Silva’s Everton this season.

Cenk Tosun admits that his goals tally has not been good enough this season as he approaches the end of his first full campaign in Everton colours, speaking to the Liverpool Echo.
A £27 million signing from Besiktas in January 2018, as reported by Sky Sports, the Turkish international arrived at Goodison Park tasked with replicating the goals of Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian had joined Manchester United just a few months earlier.
Tosun made a bright start to life in the Premier League, netting five times in his first few months in an Everton shirt. But he has failed to kick on in 2018/19, finding the target on just three occasions in all competitions.
And, speaking to the Liverpool Echo, the German-born centre-forward admits that he could, and perhaps should, have done better.
“As a striker, you need to score goals,” Tosun said. “Even if you do not play well, everybody counts the goals.

“Last season, I scored five in 12 starts. This season, I could do better. When I played well, I could still have scored more goals.”
Tosun has hit the net twice in 21 Premier League appearances under Marco Silva and he has found himself behind both Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the pecking order.
And the 27-year-old’s future appears to be up in the air heading into the summer with the Liverpool Echo reporting that he is available for a cut-price fee of £20 million.
