January signing Tosun has struggled to make an impact at Everton.
Everton striker Cenk Tosun has told the club’s official website that he wants to win silverware with the Merseyside giants and spoke of his difficult start to life at Goodison Park.
The 26-year-old has failed to have an impact under Sam Allardyce since his £27million move to Everton from Turkish champions Besiktas, starting just two matches for the Toffees and he remains without a goal for his new club.
It has seen the Turkey international drop to the bench with Allardyce preferring Oumar Niasse up front, as the Senegalese continues his form with seven goals in 15 Premier League outings this season.
Tosun spoke of his struggle to adjust to life in the Premier League before stating that he sees his future at Everton and wants to win trophies with his new club.
“The first few weeks were difficult maybe for my body and the adjustment, but I can feel already that I’m adapting and I’m more comfortable now,” Tosun said.
“I want to be a player that can help Everton to achieve what we want to achieve as a Club. I am working hard to be that player. In the long-term I want to win some silverware in my career at Everton.”
Tosun is expected to be left on the bench once again on Saturday evening as Everton travel to Hertfordshire to face Watford at Vicarage Road, as they look to build on their 3-1 win over Crystal Palace.
Now just two points off seventh place in a remarkable turn around from when Allardyce took over, Everton fans will be looking up the table rather than down it with European football still well within their grasp.
