Newcastle United are said to be keen admirers of the Turkish international forward.

However, Tosun does not seem to have been distracted with the rumours suggesting he could be a Premier League target, and insists he is happy playing for Besiktas.
“I’m very happy the move to Crystal Palace failed [in the summer],” Tosun said.

“It meant I got to stay at the club and I am doing very well at the moment, domestically and in the Champions League.
“I’m happy to stay here and progress my career.”
Tosun has enjoyed a wonderful season at Besiktas to date, with his performances in the Champions League being particularly impressive.

Tosun has scored four goals in four matches in Europe’s top competition, and he has also has five league strikes to his name.
If Tosun was to join Newcastle he would increase Rafael Benitez’s attacking options at a time when the Magpies desperately need some more quality added to their forward ranks.
All of Newcastle’s current forwards have struggled for goals so far this campaign, with a new number nine thought to be high up on Benitez’s shopping list in January.
