Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with the signature of talented Turkish winger Cengiz Under this week.

It was reported by The Sun this week that Spurs had agreed an £8 million fee with his club Basaksehir for his signing and that Spurs will be beating Manchester United to his acquisition.

TurksVoetbal then reported that the Istanbul club want a figure between 12 and 15 million euros for the player, £10.4m-£13m in British sterling and that no deal was yet done.

Now, the player’s agent has been speaking about his client’s future.

Turkish-Football report Omer Koray Uzun as making it clear no deal was currently in place:

“There is no agreement right now with any club, there are several clubs from England, Germany and France scouting Under but no deal.”

Lille's Stade Pierre-MauroyLille are also keen on the player

He went on to insist the main aim for any transfer was to get Under playing in Europe next term, something Tottenham can offer with Champions League football:

“We are waiting for the right moment but Cengiz will play in Europe and his club want the same for him.

“It is just a matter of the right time now, his club and manager Abdullah Avci deserve a lot of praise for taking a risk on him and giving him the chance to prove himself.”

Under has played 31 games this season for his club, scoring seven times. He also made his senior international debut for Turkey and has since gone on to score his first goal for his nation against Moldova in March.
