Celtic were said to be interested in signing Vujadin Savic from Red Star Belgrade.

The Scottish Sun have suggested that reports in Serbia saying that Celtic will move for Vujadin Savic are wide of the mark.

The Daily Record claimed that links in Serbia had suggested that Celtic have already been put plans in place to sign Savic from Red Star Belgrade.

The defender is believed to be available for £1.5 million, and has been offered out to clubs.

However, the Scottish Sun claim that Brendan Rodgers side are not interested in signing the centre-back.

Celtic are likely to bolster their defence in the summer transfer window, with Brendan Rodgers keen to add to his side’s backline, but Savic is not thought to be on his wishlist.

The 27-year-old has played 30 times for Red Star this season, but is not said to be being considered by Celtic.

The Bhoys did bring in Marvin Compper in January and Kristoffer Ajer is developing into a fine player, so Rodgers can afford to be picky when considering new targets in the summer.
