Celtic ace James Forrest was surprisingly linked with a move to Liverpool last month.

The Scottish Sun reported that the Reds were keen on a £8 million move for the winger.

Celtic fans scoffed at this figure, but last night Forrest barely looked worth that much.

Celtic’s home game against Valencia was a real test of the Scotland international winger.

Forrest failed to bring his A-game, and his chance of a big money move to Anfield is over before it really took a life of it’s own.

Celtic were defeated 2-0 and were second best all over the pitch.

Forrest was a case in point. He played all 90 minutes and did not make an impact.

The 27-year-old had no shots, and created no chances for his teammates.

Liverpool are a team operating at an elite level domestically and in Europe.

Forrest was exposed as being below the standard needed to crack Liverpool’s team last night, if it wasn’t already evident.

Celtic fans can rest assured he is not heading to Anfield.
