Celtic’s skipper has revealed that his manager has been talking a lot about the prospect of winning his first trophy since taking charge.
Celtic captain Scott Brown has been speaking ahead of the Sottish League Cup final against Dundee United this Sunday.
In an interview published by the club’s official Twitter account, the 29-year-old talked about the prospect of Ronny Deila winning his first trophy since taking charge of the club.
“He has been talking about it a lot,” the Celtic skipper said. “(He’s) really looking forward to Sunday.”
Deila became Celtic manager back in June last year, following the departure of Neil Lennon, and he remains on for a famous treble following the 1-1 draw with United in the Scottish Cup quarter-final on Sunday.
But for now his attention will turn to the same opponents but a different trophy, with the former Stromsgodset manager on the verge of holding aloft the first of what he will hope is many pieces of silverware.
Having guided his former side to their first league title for 43 years, Deila clearly knows what it takes to inspire a team to success, but Celtic will not have an easy ride against an impressive United squad.
