The transfer of Celtic’s Scott Allan indicates that the Scottish Premiership side won’t be signing Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty.

If rumours are believed, Hibernian want Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty, but the imminent arrival of a Celtic player means it probably won’t happen.
According to The Scottish Sun, the Easter Road side will try and sign the out-on-loan Rangers ace if Steven Gerrard doesn’t want him.
Problem is, Hibs are already getting a similar player in Scott Allan, who has agreed to join them from Celtic at the end of this season.
Docherty is known in Scotland as a defensive midfielder, making him a different type of player than the forgotten Celtic ace.
But the 22-year-old is thriving in a more advanced midfield role with Shrewsbury Town in League One, scoring 10 goals.
When he comes back to Glasgow in the summer, that is what he’ll be returning as, a number eight and considering Allan fulfills the same role, it makes little sense to have both.
Unless Paul Heckingbottom intends on converting the Celtic ace into a destroyer type, which isn’t going to happen given his skill set, then Hibs won’t be signing the Rangers man.
