Celtic were not expected to win against Bayern Munich at home on Tuesday evening, and they did not.

The Glasgow giants went down 2-1 to the German powerhouse at Celtic Park in the Champions League.

Although Bayern picked up all three points from the encounter, it was not easy for the visitors from Munich.

Brendan Rodgers’s side gave Jupp Heynckes’s team a run for their money, and the Celtic Park faithful will probably have been disappointed that they could not bag a point.

Perhaps Celtic could have drawn the match against the potential Champions League winners had they been defensively better. The Hoops’ main weakness is at the back, and it was exposed in the opening goal.

Kingsley Coman pounced after Dedryck Boyata’s hesitation to leave Craig Gordon stranded midway through the first half to put Bayern ahead.

That goal – and the following photo – pretty much sums up Celtic’s problem at the moment. Rodgers needs to address this now…
