Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are arguably a stronger side than Celtic right now – will a double deal for the Hoops change that?

Celtic have a couple of logs on the fire in terms of transfers, but will it worry Rangers?
According to The Glasgow Evening Times, the Hoops are set to sign left-back Birger Meling, while The Express claim that a deal for Jordon Ibe – who played with Gers boss Steven Gerrard – is also close.
They’re both good players, but is it enough for Celtic to stop Rangers from denying their Old Firm rivals nine-in-a-row by winning a 55th Premiership title in the process? It’s doubtful.
Even some Celtic fans will acknowledge that Gerrard’s side are looking red hot this season.
So far, Rangers have netted 28 goals from nine games in all competitions, conceding five. Celtic have scored 30 from the same amount of games, but Neil Lennon’s side have shipped 10 – twice as much as their bitter rivals.
It doesn’t take a genius to work out that the Bhoys – who sold Kieran Tierney this month – have major problems in defence and the addition of Meling and Ibe, a winger, is unlikely to solve that.
The jury’s out on Christopher Jullien, a £7 million centre-back, while Boli Bolingoli has endured an ominous start to life at Parkhead.
As things stand, you could argue that Rangers are the more balanced side, with strength in most positions, and even if Celtic do this double deal, it might not be enough to foil what Gerrard is building on the blue half of Glasgow.
