James Forrest won’t be Celtic’s short or long-term captain.

Neil Lennon has told The Scottish Sun that he has several candidates to replace Scott Brown as Celtic captain in this evening’s clash with Hibernian – but James Forrest isn’t one of them.
The no-nonsense Hoops skipper is an injury doubt for today’s League Cup semi-final at Hampden.
Consequently, Lennon needs somebody to take the armband off Brown and the Celtic boss revealed that Callum McGregor could well shoulder the responsibility.
The Bhoys boss added that there’s a number of prospective players to take over as captain, but claims that Forrest is a bit too quiet for the role.
He told The Scottish Sun: “I would have no qualms handing Callum the armband against Hibs. We have two or three captains in that dressing room.
“Christopher Jullien could do it, Kris Ajer takes responsibility, James Forrest is a bit quieter and I don’t think he’d fancy it!”
There’s no shame in not being captain material and, let’s face it, Forrest more than makes up for it.
The Scotland winger has 10 goals across all competitions for Celtic this season, and has arguably been the club’s best and most consistent performer over the past three or four years.
He might not boast a huge number of leadership qualities in the conventional sense, but he certainly does lead by example and Lennon will need him to do that again today.
