Celtic have been linked with a move for the Cork City goal-scorer.

According to a recent report from the Scottish Sun, Celtic are interested in signing Sean Maguire from Cork City this summer, after the 23-year-old filled his boots for the Irish side.

And when you consider he would be available for just £150,000 due to a buyout clause in his contract, it is surely a no-brainer on the part of Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers.

While Celtic will do everything in their power to keep Moussa Dembele at the club next season, and Leigh Griffiths is a more than able deputy, Rodgers will know he needs all the fire-power he can get as he bids to succeed both domestically and in Europe.

As a result, Maguire would be a cheap, risk-free option, allowing Celtic to rotate their front men whenever required while also ensuring the player can slowly get used to the Scottish Premiership.

It is rare that a striker who scores almost on a weekly basis is available for such a knock-down price, so Celtic should act before someone else does.

A move to Celtic Park would surely appeal to Maguire and he could add more quality to a strike force that is only going to get better in Rodgers’ second year at the helm.
