The Celtic striker is among the favourites in the fans vote, but the winner will be decided by a group of journalists in the coming weeks.
Celtic’s Moussa Dembele celebrates scoring their third goal
Celtic striker Moussa Dembele is currently leading the race to win the Golden Boy award, along with AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma, both of whom have 9% of the public vote according to the Tuttosport website.
Dembele has already scored 12 goals in 17 appearances for the Hoops since his summer transfer from Fulham and is now among the leading candidates for the prestigious award amongst football fans, who have put him in the lead in Tuttosport’s poll.
Italian newspaper Tuttosport created the award back in 2003 and some of the world’s best players have since won it including Lionel Messi, Paul Pogba and Sergio Aguero, who have all gone on to have impressive careers to date.

The list is compiled of the best 40 young players in Europe and whilst there has been nearly 35,000 votes cast already on the Tuttosport website, the final outcome will be decided by a group of journalists in the coming weeks.
Whilst not considered one of the favourites to win the award, Dembele has certainly caught Celtic and football fans across Europe’s eye for being joint top in the pole.
Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford
Dembele’s blistering start to the season has seen him being tracked by a number of Europe’s top clubs, with the likes of Real Madrid, Arsenal and Bayern Munich keeping tabs on the France under-20 international, according to The Sun Newspaper.
The winner is expected to be either one of Bayern pair Renato Sanches and Kingsley Coman or Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.
