Tottenham Hotspur should seriously consider a move for the Celtic striker this summer.
Mauricio Pochettino deserves great credit for the job that he has done since taking over as manager of Tottenham in May 2014, but his failure to guide his side to a trophy is beginning to become a concern.
This summer will be vital for the Argentine, and he will surely be looking to bolster his ranks at Spurs, in order to take them to that elusive next level.
One particular area where Poch needs to strengthen is his centre forward department, with more competition required for Harry Kane.
The problem is that anyone who Tottenham signs will have to accept that they will be second choice to Kane, if Pochettino opts to play with one striker as he usually does.
With this in mind, the Lilywhites should target a young forward who has a lot to prove, and who better than Celtic’s Moussa Dembele?
The 21-year-old joined the Hoops from Fulham in the summer of 2016, and has gone on to score an impressive 48 goals in 86 games for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
He is strong in the air, quick along the ground, and plays with a certain kind of maturity that defies his tender years.
Dembele would surely be prepared to act as Kane’s understudy for a couple of years at least, and he would be hungry to prove that he has what it takes to make it at the very highest level.
The Glasgow giant’s will demand around £40 million for the Frenchman’s signature, according to the Telegraph, and in today’s day and age, that would represent decent value for Spurs.
