Celtic completed the signing of the German on January 1st.

Hoops new-boy Marvin Compper spoke to reporters, after completing his £1 million switch from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, and explained how Brendan Rodgers’ attention to detail was enough to convince him that a switch to Parkhead was the right move for him, as quoted by German media outlet Sport Buzzer.
The 32-year-old centre-back is expected to provide Rodgers with more options defensively, and his experience of playing at the very highest level will surely prove to be crucial to Celtic’s hopes of making genuine progress in Europe over the next few years.

Compper’s move to the Celtic was seen as somewhat of a coup for the Glasgow giants, and the former RB Leipzig man explained how an extensive meeting with Rodgers at the Hoops manager’s home was enough to convince him into joining the Scottish champions, as quoted by German media outlet Sport Buzzer:

“I was invited to his home for breakfast. There was gluten-free bread and lactose-free cereal. And then he showed me an eight-page exposé about me. He knew everything about me, knew my taste for healthy food and even the age of my wife and children.”
Celtic are currently in the middle of their winter break, so Compper will not get a chance to make his competitive debut until January 20th when the Hoops take on Brechin in the Scottish Cup.
