Celtic have sent Mark Hill on loan to St Mirren for the rest of the season.

As reported by BBC Sport, Hill will now link up with the Scottish Championship leaders as he looks to gain valuable experience of senior football.

The 19-year-old is usually deployed as a central midfielder but is also capable of operating as a right-back or a right-sided midfielder and is an exciting prospect.

Hill has produced some impressive performances for Celtic’s development sides, which has included him featuring in the UEFA Youth League.

A neat passer, Hill is adept defensively and is very effective at breaking up play and quickly distributing the ball to his team-mates.

The opportunity to help St Mirren win the Scottish Championship is certainly likely to have played a major part in convincing Hill to join the club.

St Mirren are currently eight points clear of their closest challengers Dundee United, although they have played a game more.

Hill has progressed well since he joined Celtic from Hamilton Academical’s academy in 2012, although he is still waiting to make his competitive senior debut for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
