Mark Warburton’s Ibrox side, Rangers, are set to meet Glasgow rivals, Celtic, in the Scottish Premiership again next season.
Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has taken a cheeky swipe at Mark Warburton’s Glasgow Rangers side in the Scottish Herald, ahead of next season in the Scottish Premiership.
Celtic and Rangers are set to renew their rivalry next term, following the Ibrox side’s promotion last campaign.
The Bhoys have dominated Scottish football, during Rangers’ absence from the top tier.
However, Brendan Rodgers’ men are expected to face much more competition next season, as they aim to win their sixth Scottish Premiership title in a row.
Rangers have already outlined their ambitions, by making four new signings, but Griffiths does not seem too concerned about the Light Blues’ potential challenge.
Griffiths has suggested that Celtic will only have to play Rangers three times next season, as Warburton’s side will finish in the bottom half of the SPFL table.
“Next season we will try to go for the clean sweep by trying to get at least three victories,” Griffiths joked.
The SPFL splits towards the later end of the season, meaning only certain teams face each other four times, depending on their league positions.
When Celtic and Rangers met in the Scottish Cup last campaign, Warburton’s men ran out the winners on penalties.
