Leigh Griffiths has taken to Twitter to respond after Brendan Rodgers was asked whether the Celtic striker had been left unhappy and frustrated with his recent lack of game-time.

Griffiths has been an unused substitute for the Hoops’ last three games, with Odsonne Edouard currently enjoying a run in the team, while Moussa Dembele was brought on ahead of the Scotsman at the weekend.

That lack of recent action led to Rodgers having to respond to questions in his press conference ahead of Celtic’s clash with Hamilton on Wednesday regarding whether Griffiths had been left angered by the snub, and, as reported by The Scottish Sun, Rodgers responded by suggesting that he did not know and you would need to ask the striker himself.

In response to those reports however, Griffiths has taken to social media to comment on the situation with a simple yet clear tweet clarifying that he is not unhappy about his current lack of game-time.

The 27-year-old will know that getting in the Celtic team should be a challenge as that is what should enable the Bhoys to maintain their domestic dominance.

Nevertheless, he would also be forgiven for being frustrated with his lack of minutes recently as he is clearly good enough to play regularly and would probably be a focal point for a number of sides if he did leave.

But perhaps Rodgers will be hoping that time out of the team will make the Scotland international more hungry than ever to make a statement when he does back into the side. And based on Griffiths’ tweet, any frustration is being used as motivation rather than giving him a reason to be unhappy.
