Celtic’s Leigh Griffiths impressed by Odsonne Edouard in training

Leigh Griffiths is one of the few Celtic players who are currently in excellent form.

Leigh Griffiths has told the Scottish Herald that Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard has impressed him in training.

Griffiths and Edouard are competing for the striking spot in Brendan Rodgers’ starting line-up at Parkhead.

And Griffiths admits that he faces a battle to win a place in Celtic’s team, as Edouard is such a hard worker in training.

Griffiths said: “But the big man works tirelessly in games and in training. He’s a big, big talent and people have seen what he can produce. Folk have to remember he is only 20 years old. He’s still a young lad. But he has all the talent in the world.”

Edouard’s form has actually dropped for Celtic of late, with Griffiths seemingly becoming Rodgers’ number one choice up top.

Griffiths has hit three goals in his last three appearances for the Bhoys, with his finishing prowess on full display.

Griffiths is one of very few Celtic players who actually appear to be on top form.

Celtic have struggled badly over the early part of the season, with the pressure building on Rodgers’ side to hit some form sooner rather than later.
