Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos was red carded in the first half of the Old Firm derby.

He lashed out at Celtic midfielder Scott Brown, leaving his side to play the rest of the game with 10 men.

Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer is adamant that sending off Morelos was the correct call.

He told the Evening Times: “It was a clear sending off for the first one, I think everyone can see that.

“I didn’t have as good a view for the second incident but the first one with Morelos was very clear.”

Morelos now faces a suspension which could rule him out for a month.

Football Scotland report Morelos is likely to be banned for a minimum of four games. This was his fifth red of the season.

Morelos was fortunate not to be sent off in Rangers’ win over Celtic at Ibrox in December.

Teammate Andy Halliday was also red carded at the final whistle.
