Celtic defender Jozo Simunovic has told The Telegraph that he is fully focused on his current club at the moment.
Simunovic will remain at Celtic until January at least after his move to Italian club Torino in the summer transfer window collapsed.
As the 22-year-old defender revealed on social networking site Twitter, Serie A outfit Torino wanted to change the terms of the deal with the Scottish Premiership giants at the last minute (click here to read more).
The Croatia Under-21 international centre-back was probably deemed surplus to requirements by boss Brendan Rodgers, but the youngster is now ready to work hard and establish himself in the team.
Simunovic has said that the Torino transfer saga is finished, and that he is now fully focused on Celtic.
“Torino is finished,” Simunovic told The Telegraph. “That story is over for me – I am only focused on Celtic.
“It’s been a tough year for me but I used the time carefully. I focused on my fitness and my head. Now I am ready.”
Simunovic is a talented and promising young defender, and Rodgers would be wise to make the most of him in the coming weeks and month.
The former Dinamo Zagreb youngster is going to be determined and focused on proving to Rodgers what he is capable of, and the Celtic boss should make the most of this.
Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 22 points from eight matches and have a game in hand.
