Celtic have been without Afolabi for the best part of a month.

Jonathan Afolabi has expressed his delight at being back in training with Celtic.

Afolabi, who moved to Celtic after his Southampton contract expired earlier this summer, has been out for around a month with a hamstring injury.

His absence coincided with that of another Bhoys striker, Leigh Griffiths, while Vakoun Issouf Bayo has since added to Neil Lennon’s problems in that particular position.

Griffiths, though, was spotted at a pre-Lazio practice session earlier this week and according to Afolabi’s Instagram story, the Irishman is fit-again too.

Afolabi had been scoring regularly for Celtic’s development side, but is still awaiting his senior debut.

But he is likely to be encouraged by the progress made by another teenager summer recruit, Jeremie Frimpong, who has scored or made two goals in his first four Bhoys appearances – despite playing right-back.
