Everton are said to be trying to buy Kieran Tierney from Celtic this summer.

Celtic’s James Forrest has told the Glasgow Evening Times that reported Everton target Kieran Tierney is just as good as Liverpool’s Andy Robertson.

The Scottish Herald have suggested that Everton are ready to make a £25 million move for Celtic’s Tierney this summer.

The left-back could be on his way out of Celtic, as Premier League interest mounts.

And Forrest claims that Tierney is every bit as good as Liverpool’s Robertson.

“There’s nothing between him and Andy Robertson,” he said. “They are two great players for Scotland. “Even though they play in the same position, they are slightly different with the way they play. It’s a bonus for Scotland that we have two players like that in the squad.”

Robertson ranks up among the very best left-backs in the Premier League, and if Tierney does make a similar impact in England he would be a brilliant addition for whoever signs him.

Everton are believed to be competing with Arsenal for Tierney, with the Gunners heavily linked.

If Tierney does leave Celtic it will be a major blow for the Scottish side, as he is a hugely popular figure at Parkhead and a key part of Neil Lennon’s side’s starting line-up.
