Odsonne Edouard’s form for Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic side has slowed in recent matches.

James Forrest of Celtic controls the ball during the Scottish Cup Final between Celtic and Motherwell at Hampden Park on May 19, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

James Forrest has insisted to the Scotsman that Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard is perfectly able to cope with the pressure on him at the moment.

Edouard has come under fire at Celtic in recent weeks, with his form dipping.

The striker has scored just one goal in his last five appearances, with the Celtic front man badly struggling.

But Forrest insists that Edouard is not responding badly from the increasing criticism coming his way.

“He handles it all well,” Forrest said. “Big Odsonne is chilled and he’s got the right mentality to handle it.”

Even Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has suggested that he would like to be able to give Edouard a rest.

However, with Leigh Griffiths given time off, Celtic’s striking options are limited.

The Bhoys are expected to be in the market for a new striker in January, but until then Edouard may have to continue up-front.

Celtic are next in action later this evening, when they take on Motherwell at Parkhead, and a victory would put them back to the top of the league.
