Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic signed Filip Benkovic on loan from Leicester City in the summer transfer window.

Benkovic joined Scottish Premiership side Celtic on loan from Premier League side Leicester in the summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old central defender has admitted that the Foxes could recall him in the middle of the season due to a clause in the deal.
The Croatia Under-21 international has also said that he has spoken to people at Leicester regarding a return.
Benkovic told The Scottish Sun: “I signed for Celtic until the end of the season but there is a clause in the contract which means that Leicester can bring me back in January.
“So far I have spoken with some people at the club but they must wait and see what their situation is in the winter. Maybe they will sell some players, I don’t know.
“Because of that I may have to wait until the last minute of the transfer window to find out what is happening — just like the last one when I signed for Celtic.”

Blow for Celtic
Benkovic is a very talented and promising young defender, and if the Croatian leaves in the January transfer window, then it will be a blow for Celtic.
Celtic do need a player of the 21-year-old’s quality and calibre at the heart of their defence, and it will not be easy to find a suitable replacement for the Leicester-owned defender in the January transfer window.
The Hoops are aiming to win the Scottish Premiership title this season and make an impact in the Europa League.
