Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has used Ambrose just twice since taking the reins at Parkhead.
Celtic defender Efe Ambrose has told Owngoalnigeria there has been contact from Marseille, albeit nothing concrete.
Ambrose, who has appeared just twice under new boss Brendan Rodgers and not once since August, is out of contract at the end of the campaign.

As such, the Nigerian is able to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club in January, although he could depart Parkhead before then, having admitted he wants to get back playing.
English Championship strugglers Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly offered a trial to Ambrose last month, however this was later denied by local journalist Tim Spiers on Twitter.
Despite acknowledging Wolves’ apparent interest, the 28-year-old refused to confirm contact from any other club bar Marseille.
“Yes I have contact with Marseille but nothing concrete yet,” Ambrose told Owngoalnigeria. “We will know more in the coming days but for now am still at Celtic where am hoping to give my best to force my way back into the plans of the manager.”
He added: “I have been linked with a host of English Championship teams and they [Wolves] are one of them, but like I said am under contract with Celtic for the next six months. I can’t really say much about other teams that have made move for me.
“The idea is to get back playing, be it with Celtic or any other club. I just want to play football, I still have dreams of representing Nigeria at the 2018 World Cup and playing regularly will boost my chances.”

The Daily Mail reported on Wednesday that Ambrose is keen to apply for British citizenship, for which he qualifies from next summer, in which case a January move to England would likely appeal.
Championship sides Reading and Blackburn Rovers were previously linked with Ambrose in August [Daily Express], although the Bhoys outcast may yet have to sit things out in Glasgow.
