Craig Gordon has intimated on Instagram that he has returned to some level of training for Celtic.

The 34-year-old was ruled out for 12 weeks in late January after suffering a knee injury in a collision with Hibernian’s Efe Ambrose.

But it seems like Gordon might be ahead of schedule after the Scottish goalkeeper posted a photo of his boots and gloves on Instagram today.

It’s been a while… loved having these back on today.

Celtic could do with having Gordon back sooner rather than later.

Dorus de Vries has looked slightly suspect in deputising for Gordon and the Hoops might well need their strongest XI possible from here on in – especially if they lose at Rangers on Sunday.

Defeat at Ibrox would see Graeme Murty’s side cut the deficit to just three points and Celtic would definitely have a fight on their hands to win a seventh successive Premiership title then.

It remains to be seen whether Gordon is back in full or light training, but he appears to be making healthy strides nonetheless and the sooner he’s back, the better for Celtic.
