Celtic are eyeing talented defender Fikayo Tomori, according to a report in the Sunday Mirror (19/05, p66).

Tomori is enjoying a standout season on loan at Derby and it is little wonder he has caught Celtic’s eye.

Celtic’s manager is yet to be decided for next season, and crucially, there are question marks over Tomori’s current club Chelsea too.

The Mail report Chelsea are considering replacing Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri with Frank Lampard.

This would spell the end for Celtic’s hopes of landing Tomori.

Lampard is Tomori’s manager at Derby, and has made the defender a regular in his XI.

While there is a step up required, Tomori would almost certainly be involved under Lampard at Chelsea.

Celtic’s chances are already complicated by Chelsea having a transfer ban in place this summer.

Lampard getting the Chelsea job would make landing Tomori impossible.
