Celtic snapped up the American defender in January but he awaits his competitive debut.

Andrew Gutman has written on Twitter that he is ‘loving every moment’ at Celtic.

Former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers brought the 22-year-old defender to Parkhead in January, and he was immediately loaned to Charlotte Independence in the United States’ second-tier division.

But Neil Lennon brought him to Austria and he has played in both of the Hoops’ friendlies so far.

It remains to be seen if Gutman is in line for a debut when Lennon’s side take on Sarajevo in a Champions League qualifier next week, but the young American is loving life at the moment.

Gutman is a left-back and the Bhoys might just need a new one of those soon, amid speculation about Kieran Tierney joining Arsenal.

But Gutman, who’s the same age as the Scottish star, hasn’t played a single minute in Scotland and it would be one hell of a risk by Lennon, who didn’t even bring him to Glasgow in the first place.

Still, Rodgers did appear to have an eye for a player, and if he rated the American star then maybe, just maybe, Lennon should see what he’s about.
