Celtic completed the season-long loan signing of Roberts in the summer.

Celtic trickster Patrick Roberts has told fans on Instagram that he is “sad to be out” for a number of months after picking up a severe hamstring injury against Motherwell on Wednesday night.
The 20-year-old has struggled with injury since rejoining the Hoops for another season after returning to parent club Manchester City in the summer following an 18-month loan with Celtic.

Now, the England Under-20 international has returned to City once again in order to undergo tests, according to BBC Sport, with the website claiming he will be out until March.
Posting on his personal Instagram account, former Fulham attacker Roberts appeared devastated as he posted a caption stating “Sad to be out for a few months. Working hard to get back out on the pitch as soon as possible”.
A fan favourite, Roberts was one of Celtic’s best and most consistent performers last season as he scored a huge 11 goals as well as being renowned as somewhat of an assist machine – laying on 19 strikes for his teammates.
However, this time around, Roberts has managed just one goal and three assists in 12 league and cup outings as James Forrest continues to take all the plaudits for his unrivalled form.
Celtic are preparing to face Belgian champions Anderlecht as they look to secure a place in the knockout stages of the Europa League after Christmas. They must avoid losing by three or more goals, if they are to qualify.
