Celtic winger Mohamed Elyounoussi, on loan from Southampton, wanted to play Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers in the Scottish League Cup final.

Celtic winger Mohamed Elyounoussi has got his wish regarding Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers.
Elyounoussi, who joined Celtic on loan from Premier League club Southampton in the summer transfer window, wanted to face Rangers in the final of the Scottish League Cup this season.
After helping Celtic hammer Hibernian in the semi-finals of the competition on Saturday, the 25-year-old, who can also operate as a forward, said that he was not scared to face bitter Old Firm rivals Rangers in the final.
The Norway international told The Scottish Sun: “Would we like to play Rangers? Yes, why not? We are not scared of any team.
“We believe in the players, our coaching staff and the team around us. It would be nice to play Rangers in the final, but it doesn’t really matter.”

Elyounoussi – who joined Southampton from Basel in the summer of 2018 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £16 million – has got his wish – the Hoops will face Rangers in the final.
On Sunday, Rangers won their Scottish League Cup semi-final tie, and the Gers will now look to stop the Bhoys from winning the domestic treble for the fourth season in a row.
Elyounoussi has scored four goals in five Scottish Premiership matches and one goal in three Europa League games for Celtic so far this season, according to WhoScored.
