James Forrest has scored five goals for Celtic so far this season.
Celtic winger James Forrest has told the Daily Record that he is in the form of his life.
Forrest has been a revelation over recent weeks for the Bhoys, with his performances earning him a great deal of praise.
Brendan Rodgers appears to have found a way to get the best out of the skilful wide-man.
And Forrest said, of his form: “Is this the best I’ve played? Definitely. I’ve played a lot of games and it has been a great start to the season for me and the team.
“But this is just the start. There are a lot of important games coming up for Celtic and Scotland and I’m just excited to be part of them.”
Forrest appears to be ahead of Patrick Roberts in the pecking order for places at Celtic, which is testament to how well the 24-year-old is playing.
Roberts was one of Celtic’s best players towards the end of last season, but he has had to make do with a number of substitute appearances this time around.
Forrest, meanwhile, has played 16 times for the Bhoys – scoring on five occasions and setting up four goals.
Forrest has always been criticised for being very inconsistent throughout his career, but he appears to finally have found a way of regularly performing to the best of his ability.
The Celtic academy graduate is currently away with Scotland, and he looks likely to feature in his country’s World Cup qualifying match against Lithuania at the weekend.
