Scottish Premiership champions Celtic will officially confirm the signing of West Ham United youngster Justin Osagie very soon, as reported by All Nigeria Soccer.

That’s to be expected.

After all, we’ve already seen Osagie modelling Celtic’s iconic green and white shirt. The teenage centre-back was pictured in Hoops colours earlier this week, the number 45 on the back of his new kit.

And although there hasn’t been any confirmation of Osagie’s switch from London to Glasgow, it shouldn’t be far away. All Nigeria Soccer claim that Celtic are ‘on the verge’ of announcing the one-time Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Chelsea target as their latest new addition of a busy summer on the green side of the city.

Celtic will sign Justin Osagie from West Ham United

17-year-old Osagie will play for Celtic’s reserve team initially. But, as Ange Postecoglou proved during an outstanding debut season north of the border, first-team opportunities will come around for talented young players ready to make their mark.

“Exclusive; Done deal. Celtic have signed highly-rated talent Justin Osagie from West Ham,” BBC Scotland reporter Fraser Fletcher wrote on Twitter this Monday.

“The 17-year-old joins on a permanent deal from the Hammers.”

Osagie left Southend United for West Ham back in 2020. He moves on having failed to make a senior appearance in claret-and-blue, though he obviously made quite the impression behind the scenes with Celtic willing to take a punt on a talented central defender who can also play further forward in midfield.

The Hoops have already signed Aaron Mooy, Moritz Jenz, Alexandro Bernabei and Benjamin Siegrist this summer. Daizen Maeda, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Filipe Jota have returned to Parkhead as well, following excellent loan spells at the club.

Celtic have missed out on Dylan Reid, however, the Scotland youth captain opting to stay at St Mirren. This is despite Celtic agreeing a £125,000 fee with the Paisley outfit.
