Scottish Premiership champions Celtic reportedly want to sign Karl Darlow from Premier League outfit Newcastle United.

Newcastle United’s links with a £13 million Greek international are good news for Celtic. Why? Well, Karl Darlow is all but certain to be on his way out of St James’ Park if Odysseas Vlachodimos arrives this summer.
The Chronicle reported earlier in May that Scottish Premiership champions Celtic are looking to add the £3 million-rated Darlow to their ranks this summer.
The 28-year-old featured just once for Newcastle in 2018/19, coming in August’s 3-1 EFL Cup defeat at Nottingham Forest, and he will only slip further down the pecking order if Vlachodimos arrives from Benfica.
O Jogo reports that Newcastle have made an enquiry about signing the 25-year-old Greek ‘stopper, who played a crucial role as Benfica wrestled the Primeira Liga title back from Porto. Vlachodimos is apparently valued at around £13 million.

In truth, suggestions that Newcastle are looking for another goalkeeper suggests that Darlow’s time on Tyneside is coming to an end, particularly with Martin Dubravka seemingly set to stay at Newcastle for the time being and Rafa Benitez rating youngster Freddie Woodman quite highly.
But with Scott Bain and Craig Gordon still at Celtic, first-team football would hardly be guaranteed at Parkhead either.
