Celtic are set to be busy on the final day of the transfer window with players arriving and leaving Parkhead before Friday’s deadline.

Brendan Rodgers’ side have made a perfect start to the season with three successive wins in the Scottish Premiership without conceding a single goal.

But Celtic are not growing complacent and are expected to get several deals over the line on deadline day.

They have already made five additions to their squad but are still in the market for extra reinforcements. They have been linked with a return for a former star with Celtic interested in Odsonne Edouard.

But there is also a growing feeling that more players could leave Celtic before the window closes and all eyes will be on Manchester City’s interest in Kyogo.

Celtic will allow duo to leave before deadline

After losing Matt O’Riley in a £25m deal to Brighton already this summer, Celtic will be desperate to keep hold of their biggest stars.

According to Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph, two players will be allowed to leave on deadline day, but Celtic are exploring loan options rather than permanent deals.

Celtic centre-back Maik Nawrocki and midfielder Tomoki Iwata have both been allowed to leave on loan with options already on the table for both players.

The expected arrival of Arne Engels and Auston Trusty will push Nawrocki and Iwata down Rodgers’ pecking order and Celtic are willing to let both players leave to get regular minutes elsewhere.

Celtic expect new midfield signing

Alongside the arrival of Engels and Trusty, the report adds that Celtic are still looking to bring in another midfielder before the 11pm deadline.

Celtic have been in talks with Mateusz Bogusz and viewed the LAFC talisman as a ready-made replacement for O’Riley, but HITC understands that deal is now unlikely to take place.

We understand that an agreement for the £8million-rated star is now “doubtful” during the final hours of the transfer window.
