Celtic have been looking into signing Bristol City striker Antoine Semenyo – but West Ham United are now seemingly joining the race for his signature.
Bristol World reported earlier this month that Celtic had been scouting Semenyo ahead of a possible move.
The problem for Celtic is that Semenyo is valued at a huge £20million – around twice their record transfer fee paid.
It’s incredibly unlikely that Celtic go and splash out £20million on Semenyo this summer and that means other club could pounce.
90Min now report that West Ham United have been showing an interest in Semenyo over recent weeks.
It’s suggested that West Ham are looking to dip into the Championship market again having enjoyed great success with Jarrod Bowen.
Semenyo, 22, has been coming up through the Bristol City ranks but has really excelled in recent appearances for the Robins.
Semenyo has racked up five goals and five assists in his last 10 outings for Bristol City, becoming one of the Championship’s top goal threats.
Interest from other clubs is no surprise and it looks like West Ham now fancy luring Semenyo to the London Stadium.

Semenyo does actually hail from London having been born in Chelsea, and returning to the capital may be appealing.
West Ham desperately need another striker. Sebastien Haller was sold to Ajax in January 2021 and still hasn’t been replaced.
Semenyo, who aspires to be like Thierry Henry and Didier Drogba, could be the ideal player to support Antonio, offering a physical and athletic yet skilful threat with developing link-up play.
Semenyo could be the future of West Ham’s attack, but the Hammers will need to be ready to pay up to sign him this summer.
