Celtic are looking to avenge last month’s shock Betfred Cup defeat

Celtic are out for revenge on Wednesday night when they host Ross County in the Premiership.
The Staggies sparked protests outside the stadium last month with a shock 2-0 win in the Betfred Cup second round, with calls for manager Neil Lennon to be sacked.
That result was the low point of Celtic’s poor run, and in recent weeks there have been signs of recovery from Lennon’s men.

They will go into this week’s match on a high following the completion of a quadruple treble with Sunday’s Scottish Cup Final win over Hearts at Hampden.
That performance did, however, provide more examples of Celtic’s vulnerability at the back, and the visitors will hope to exploit that insecurity once again.
For the visitors, it will be the first match since Stuart Kettlewell’s dismissal. Former Celtic player John Hughes has been handed the task of keeping them in the top flight.

FORM
Celtic have won just two of their last five Premiership matches, with Rangers stretching their advantage to 16 points. The champions have three games in hand, however, and will hope that they’ve turned a corner with their Scottish Cup triumph following victories over Lille and Kilmarnock.
Ross County are rooted to the bottom of the table, having lost their last four league games. Their last league win came against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park in September.
KICK-OFF
The action kicks off at 6pm on Wednesday December 23.
