Celtic aim to build on recent positive results ahead of crucial derby
Many are already focusing on Saturday’s crucial derby, but Celtic must first take care of Dundee United.
Their final match of 2020 sees Neil Lennon’s men welcome United to Celtic Park as they aim to build on a run of three Premiership victories in a row.
That improvement has not resulted in the gap being narrowed at the top of the table, but will give the champions a degree of confidence going into this weekend’s match at Ibrox.
That’s providing they keep it up with a win against a side who came close to securing a draw when the sides last met. Albian Ajeti scored the game’s only goal after 83 minutes at Tannadice in August.
With Rangers still 16 points ahead, Lennon’s side have no room for error on Wednesday afternoon.

United sit fifth in the table, one point above sixth-placed Livingston and 11 behind fourth-placed Hibs. Micky Mellon’s men have won one of their last five league matches and were held to a 1-1 draw by Motherwell at Tannadice on Saturday.
