Bojan Miovski ‘will score goals’ if he joins Celtic from Aberdeen with former Scotland international James McFadden labelling the striker a £5 million player.
At his Friday press conference, Brendan Rodgers appeared to confirm one of Scottish football’s worst kept secrets. Celtic would, he said, look to bring in a new centre-forward during the January transfer window with three of his attackers potentially jetting out to the Asian Cup.
“It’ll depend,” Rodgers told Football Scotland ahead of Saturday’s trip to Kilmarnock. “Clearly, we try to anticipate over the last few months the guys that will go away to the Asian Cup.
“Clearly, if Daizen (Maeda), Kyogo (Furuhashi) and Oh (Hyeon-Gyu) are away, then we’ll need to do something in the market.”

Celtic like Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski
And this is where Bojan Miovski comes in.
According to the Scottish Sun, Celtic have been scouting Aberdeen’s Montenegrin marksman throughout the campaign, and McFadden is convinced that the striker would be able to make the step up from Pittodrie to Parkhead.
“Miovski’s a player. He’s 24 which is a good age,” McFadden tells Open Goal. “I think, especially in January, £5million (would be a good price) for Miovski.
“Let’s say (Hearts’ Lawrence) Shankland goes to Rangers and Miovski goes to Celtic.”
Miovski, labelled the best striker in Scotland by Dons team-mate Nicky Devlin, has 11 goals already this season and could comfortably exceeed his tally of 18 from 2022/23. The Sun believes that Aberdeen will demand a Premiership record sum, more than the £4.4 million Celtic paid for Scott Brown in 2007.

“He’s going into a team, if it’s Celtic who have Oh and Kyogo who will be away for the Asia Cup, he’ll get a run of games in a team that wants to attack and build play,” McFadden adds.
“If he gets chances, he’ll score goals.”
Celtic are also reportedly keen on Bologna’s Sydney van Hooijdonk and Brondby forward Mathias Kvistgaarden.
