The Hoops appear to have finally secured the talented 19-year-old midfielder’s signature with a Celtic Park announcement seemingly imminent.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has issued a straightforward four-word answer when asked whether David Turnbull is ready for the Hoops first team (Sunday Post).
The transfer saga involving the Motherwell ace appears to have come to an end with the 19-year-old agreeing a move to Parkhead, and will be unveiled once he completes his medical.
According to the Glasgow Evening Times, Turnbull initially rejected a move to the Scottish Premiership champions after they failed to agree personal terms.
The Hoops released a statement insisting they had made the player a “magnificent offer” but were ready to “move on” to other targets unless the teenager had a change of heart.
It then appeared that Turnbull was set to move to English Premier League newboys Norwich City, but Celtic did not give up and now it looks as though he will become a Bhoy after all.

“He’s a player we’ve admired for a while,” Lennon told his press conference, as quoted by the Sunday Post. “He had a great season last year – a breakthrough season. He’s a very good Scottish talent that we want to nurture and bring on. Hopefully he’ll thrive in this environment.
“He’s quite an elegant player. Technically very good, proficient with both feet. He scored 15 goals in 30 games, which is quite a return for a midfield player. We want him to carry on in the same vein. Could he go straight into the team? Of course he could.”
Turnbull will now compete with the likes of Callum McGregor, Tom Rogic and Ryan Christie in Celtic’s midfield and, with a busy July coming up which includes Champions League qualifiers, he could get the chance to make his mark right away.
