Celtic have had an interesting start to the season, with the club having to make do with a place in the Europa League and also suffering defeat in the league already to Hearts.

But Brendan Rodgers’ side have still won three out of four league fixtures and got the better of Old Firm rivals Rangers before the current international break.

There is definitely room for major improvement by the Scottish champions, as they have set such high standards in recent years under Rodgers.

One player that needs to get better is attacker Scott Sinclair, who cost the Bhoys £3million (Guardian) to sign back in 2016.

The left-winger has proved during his first two years with the club he was worth every penny, but there seems to have been a rapid decline in his form.

Sinclair, 29, has scored just one goal in 10 appearances this season and needs to start impacting games more if he is to have a long-term future at Parkhead.

Leigh Griffiths of Celtic is seen at full time during the Scottish Premier League between Celtic and Rangers at Celtic Park Stadium on September 2, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Another player that needs to try raise the bar after the international break is 28-year-old Leigh Griffiths, providing he can stay clear of injuries.

The Scottish centre-forward needs to start weighing in with more goals following the exit of Moussa Dembele this summer and is capable of going up a gear.

He has netted just twice in nine games, but did pop up in a vital moment to help Celtic qualify for the Europa League group stages.

The final player that could do with improving his own form is colossus defender Kristoffer Ajer.

The 20-year-old centre-back is beginning to cement his spot in the starting XI, but he can’t afford to get complacent and needs to keep improving every game.

He will have extra competition from loan signing Filip Benkovic moving forward and his starting position will come under threat.
